Troubleshooting & Maintenance

No problem. You may have a Henry Quick vacuum. Please check out the Henry Quick product information page here.

After a while of collecting dust and dirt around the home Henry Cordless can sometimes not smell as fresh as he could. To remedy this, we would recommend first;

  1. Giving him a fresh new HepaFlo Filter Bag and a wipe around the drum.
  2. Check out our blog here for the best tips on keeping Henry fresh.
  3. If he is still giving off a smell after this, you could try a MicroFresh Filter which contains activated charcoal to trap unwanted smells.

We do not recommend the use of scent beads or fragrance inside Henry Cordless, this can damage your Henry and invalidate your warranty.

Henry Cordless and friends are fitted with an automatic thermal cut-out switch. This might cut in if the machine has been running for an extended period of time. If Henry Cordless feels hot, allow him to cool down for up to an hour. Once cooled down Henry Cordless should reset himself. This is a safety feature to prevent Henry Cordless getting too hot.

Yes. Henry Cordless is proudly made in Chard, Somerset in the UK.

Henry Cordless and friends are designed to have peak suction in a variety of situations; however, they can sometimes become blocked with debris. We would recommend checking your Henry Cordless thoroughly for blockages. Click here to find out how.

All of Henry Cordless’ brains (motor and battery) are stored in his top hat. This has many benefits, including better cooling airflow to the motor and less chance of anything nasty ending up in the electrics.

Has your Henry Cordless developed a vibrating or shaking feeling whilst in use? This is usually caused by a blockage somewhere in your machine. We would recommend checking your Henry Cordless thoroughly for blockages. Click here to find out how.

No. Henry Cordless and friends are designed to be used with a bag. Genuine HepaFlo Filter Bags not only collect dirt and dust, but act as a barrier to protect the motor of your machine, they also prevent dust and dirt escaping back into the room. Click here to check our bag options.

With average usage your bag may last for up to a month. However, when you need to change your Henry Cordless’ bag is entirely dependent on personal usage. You may notice that your Henry Cordless has started to feel heavy or has less suction than before. Click here to check out our bag options.

When you first receive your Henry Cordless, his battery will arrive in transportation mode. You will need to place your battery onto the charger to activate it. We recommend charging your battery fully before first use. Check here for additional batteries.

When using Genuine HepaFlo Filter Bags, a Henry Cordless’ filter needs minimal cleaning. You can remove the filter and shake any excess dust into a carrier bag. Please note Henry Cordless’ filter is not washable, as this can degrade the materials of the filter or introduce moisture into your motor.

No. Henry Cordless is designed for dry use only. Please check out our wet pick-up range here.

The Stainless-Steel Tubes on Henry Cordless and friends are held together by friction, which means sometimes they can get stuck together especially if dust or dirt gets trapped between the joining sections. To remove the tubes;

  1. You can use a lubricant such as furniture polish to help ease them apart, remembering to pull AND twist.
  2. If accessories are stuck to the tubes, we recommend gently heating the plastic (whilst taking caution to not burn yourself), which should allow them to be removed easily.

We also recommend regularly wiping tubes and accessories where they join to prevent this happening. Please note, this does not apply to Henry/Hetty/Numatic Quick models as they contain different electrical components.

The UK WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations aim to reduce the amount of electrical products which are incinerated or landfilled. The Regulations encourage the recovery, reuse and recycling of electrical products and their components. Producers of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) must play a part in managing end of life electrical products to protect the environment – we work in partnership with REPIC to ensure that electricals are responsibly recycled.
