We do not recommend the use of scent beads or fragrance inside Henry Xtra, this can damage your Henry Xtra and invalidate your warranty.
Henry Xtra and friends are fitted with an automatic thermal cut-out switch. This might cut in if the machine has been running for an extended period of time. If the machine feels hot, allow it to cool down for up to an hour. Once cooled down the machine should reset itself. This is a safety feature to prevent Henry Xtra getting too hot.
It’s a well-known fact that Henry Xtra loves a corner. Why does he get stuck? It’s the law. If he gets stuck, gently coax him away from the corner using his handle. Please don’t pull him by his hose!

All of Henry Xtra’s brains (motor) are stored in his top hat. This has many benefits, including better cooling airflow to the motor and less chance of anything nasty ending up in the electrics. To keep him as stable as possible, make sure all cable is pulled out from your Henry Xtra and on older models, ensure the ‘Henry Xtra’ logo is facing the same way as his face.

When using Genuine HepaFlo Filter Bags, a Henry Xtra filter needs minimal cleaning. You can remove the filter and shake any excess dust into a carrier bag. Please note Henry Xtra’s filter is not washable, as this can degrade the materials of the filter or introduce moisture into your motor.

The Stainless Steel Tubes on Henry Xtra and friends are held together by friction, which means sometimes they can get stuck together especially if dust or dirt gets trapped between the joining sections. To remove the tubes;
1. You can use a lubricant such as furniture polish to help ease them apart, remembering to pull AND twist.
2. If accessories are stuck to the tubes, we recommend gently heating the plastic (whilst taking caution to not burn yourself), which should allow them to be removed easily.
We also recommend regularly wiping tubes and accessories where they join to prevent this happening. Please note, this does not apply to Henry/Hetty/Numatic Quick models as they contain different electrical components.
